The guides are easily attached as well as removed to help accomplish your task at hand. From the center needle drop position, there are markings at 1 4" to 1 8" including cornering markings for both 1 8" and 1 4" seams. You are also given three feet in one 1 4 inch foot Quilting and Clear Foot. An oval shaped needle hole allows needle adjustment for scant 1 4"
